Fakes and forgeries

The history of art has a dark side, with some artists seeking to appropriate what is not theirs. The Rockhampton Art Gallery is putting out a challenge to audiences to spot the fake. As the gallery admits ‘There are a number of forgeries from the Rockhampton Art Gallery’s collection’ and they openly invite both experts and professionals to be the art detective. Can you solve the case? Fakes and forgeries is on show until 7 November at the Rockhampton Art Gallery. Call 07 49 277129.
